We're excited to roll up our sleeves and bring art-inspired restoration to Central Elementary School.
We'll be working and playing all day...come join us!

Giant Mural
We are partnering with San Diego-based and super talented mural artist, Howard Woodward to create a giant mural in the middle of campus.
  6th Grade Garden Spruce Up
The San Diego chapter of Surfrider will be helping students and volunteers fix up the current 6th Grade Garden and teach us alittle about "ocean-friendly" gardening.
  Mini-Murals
The Art Kids of San Diego will be helping participants with a collection of mini murals on a variety of electrical boxes around campus.

Irv's Storytime
Great story: check. Great storyteller: check. We just need the illustrations! Help create the pages for a real, to-be-published book in this interactive storytime activity. At the end of our tour, Mark Pontius (Foster The People) will pull out his colored pencils to illustrate the cover!
  Paint Your Neighbor
Everyone likes a little face paint - but we're handing the brush to YOU this time. You can still have a professional create something for you...but why not give it a try yourself?!
  Dream Canvas
Grab a brush, pick your color and CREATE! Art Kids of San Diego is bringing a giant canvas for all of us to make a collaborative piece of art.

Aerosol Art
We're excited to have Imperial Beach local, Caleb Aero from Aerosol Arts show us how to use eco-friendly spray paint to create a masterpiece.
  Sneaker Art
Decorate a sweet pair of kicks and turn it into art. San Diego-based MOVMT Shoes is going to show us how to be creative with recycled materials and show us exactly what it means to “look good, do good, feel good.”
  Rock Out with RMC
Grab an instrument and make some noise! Recreational Music Center (RMC) is bringing lots of instruments to play and learn and we can't wait to hear you get your groove on.

What if I can't make it for registration?

We will need help all day long and there will be someone at the registration table to help find a place for you to jump in and help.

Will you have food and water at the event?

We will have water available, but please bring a bottle of your own to stay hydrated. We are also excited to have the El Pescador food truck on site for lunch. So bring a few bucks and an appetite!

Do I need to stay for the whole day?

We understand it's a long day, but we promise to fill it with lots of fun and you won't want to leave. You also won't want to miss the closing ceremony, trust us. However, you're more than welcome to leave whenever you need to.

Saving The Arts

We believe in the importance of having an opportunity to be creative in school and as a young person in general -- and we want to share that message.

We are planning some truly amazing art projects along the tour and need funds for purchasing supplies. Every dollar truly helps and every dollar will go specifically to art supplies.
